Language
Members of Reconstruction Era use unique language with one another. While not a fully-developed dialect, there are expressions and vocabulary unique to the type of English spoken by members of RE. This page will probably be expanded with time since most of the language used is relatively fluid.
General Terms
This mostly consists of random terms that have been used or brought up consistently throughout the existence of the community. This is not in alphabetical order because I'm simply too fucking lazy to do that and I'm writing this at 0640, so cut me some slack will ya? and will remain in alphabetical order.

Deathwar | A conflict that is likely to result in the destruction of both opponents, as in an RTS. Similar to the term total war. |
Goobermensch | A larper who often values weird niche political knowledge and uniforms, but expects to gain real, often dictatorial powers. Typically attracted to fascism. |
Joever | When it's absolutely over; an expression of dismay. Comes from Bokoen1 or possibly an old Joe Biden meme. |
LARP | Live Action Roleplaying, a kind of inept politics where you pretend you are achieving something for the long term, such as making a new committee that does pointless paperwork |
LARP-Monster | A serious and chronic LARPer, either in real life or in roleplay. |
Macrating | To aimlessly jump around your base in Minecraft or a similar game. Comes from a civex player named Macrat who would parkour around town for hours.[1] |
Periscoping | Spying by popping into a community for a short amount of time. Like a submarine's periscope. |
Plimbo | Quirky but irrelevant (the term's meaning in practice tends to be much vaguer) |
Podunkistan | An isolated area of country where the only trace of civilization is small towns. Usually a shithole. Also known as bumblefuck nowhere, the sticks. |
Scrungle | Odd, weird, a little strange. Can both be an adjective or a noun. |
Tism | Autism. |
Stronghold 2
Due to the evolving meta of Stronghold 2, RE has developed its own vocabulary. Some of these terms are common among RTS players while others are shitposts or running in-jokes.

Attrition | A strategy of weakening another player's economy. |
Balance of Power | A diplomatic strategy of attacking strong players and defending weak ones to ensure that nobody grows too powerful |
BDSM | Torture equipment used to discipline criminals |
Candle Cult | A strategy involving the use of a church to achieve a high popularity. Refers to the amount of candles that need to be produced to 'fuel' the church |
Chungus | Large or thick; big. |
Communism | Running low on food |
Economy | The chain of food, popularity, and gold that allows a castle to effectively produce units. |
Empire | A large amount of estates controlled by a single player |
Leather | A strategy of mass-producing leather armor to field large amounts of crossbowmen and macemen |
Library | A church |
Napalm | The use of either a burning cart or pitch to light enemy troops on fire |
Normandy | An amphibious assault made with Pictish Boatmen |
Pez | (Armed) Peasant |
Phalanx | A formation of ranged units and mantlets, often accompanied by melee units. |
Riflemen | Crossbowmen |
Rifle Tactics | A strategy involving the use of crossbowmen as the primary field infantry, with ballistas and catapults providing cover. Sometimes mantlets (see Phalanx) |
Rush | To swarm an enemy with fast, cheap units |
Shields | Mantlets |
Siege | An assault made on a castle, typically with the intent to kill the other player and remove them from the game |
Spam | To use a single unit or building en masse |
Spoons | Catapults |
Stonks (1) | A set of stocks used to rehabilitate prisoners |
Stonks (2) | A large amount of gold made from selling goods or taxing peasants |
Town | A village estate |
